Joan Davies  has been breeding the highest quality alpacas since 1985.

Nancy Woodward, an award winning theatrical costume designer, was in love with alpaca fiber for over thirty years before she ever actually saw an alpaca, much less knew that there was such a crittur as an affordable alpaca.

She bought her first two utterly irresistible and exquisite fiber quality males in 1999, and the rest is history. Now a full-time alpaca rancher, she cares for over 53 of her beloved alpacas, plus their guardian llamas and a small herd of miniature Shetland sheep who have faith that alpacas were sent by God to protect them.

River House Alpacas is about fiber. We cherish the alpacas who so generously give us the most wonderful fiber in the world, and we know what to do with it.
